Established in 2019, Un Grito Gallery, located in the Upstairs Studios at the Blue Star Arts Complex, presents experimental artwork from around town and beyond. Un Gritoʼs guiding lights Verena Gaudy, an Austrian ceramicist and performance artist, and her partner, Puerto Rican interdisciplinary artist Martín C. Rodríguez, bust their butts to bring challenging contemporary art to the public on a regular basis. They also welcome artists whose work reflects real-time issues regardless of academic pedigree.

Located on the edge of Windcrest and the “Wild Northeast,ˮ this brainchild of native San Antonian Jeff Smith of Hickoids fame is home to Flagship Records, Jett Bass Studio and the nonprofit organizations High Voltage Music and Tex Pop.
